In March 2014, New Arts Axis participated in a Climate Data Innovation workshop at the White House. Invited by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the White House Council on Environmental Quality, in advance of the launch of the US Climate Data Initiative — about 40 innovators, technologists, city leaders, climate experts, and few creative producers came together to develop ideas for tools and platforms that empower people to make informed decisions in the face of climate change.  At the workshop, we looked at examples of existing tools and brainstormed creative new solutions that leverage open data to inform and prepare communities for the risks posed by coastal flooding, heat waves, and drought.
